The development of a human being is a continually fascinating subject to me... especially when it's my own daughter. When I pray for her, I'm thinking of the woman that she will become. When I watch her, I see her progress gaining skills. When I write about her, it's almost always about what's new in her world. Growth and change captivate me. Maybe that's why I'm a teacher. Anyway. On to the point of today's blog.
When I say, "She's a looker," I'm not saying she's a little hottie. Maybe she will be, but what I mean is she likes to look. Gabrielle is obsessed with the ceiling fan. Gabby -n- Ceiling Fan. BFF. I put on a Baby Einstein DVD that Antony sent us (thanks, Antony!) and she stuck with it until she realized she had a poopy diaper. I didn't know kids did that at six weeks! The Christmas tree is another preferred view. Of course, that goes for adults, too.
Last night, I realized that she is trying to coordinate her arms to get her hand to her mouth. It's no accident anymore. Used to be, if the hand crossed the mouth radar, the tasting ensued. Now it's, "I want that hand now!!" It's quite hilarious... The fist jerks around like the glove of a boxer who's been hit too many times. It's primarily the left arm right now. Does this mean she'll be left-handed? A lifetime of misery may ensue. It's totally a right-handed man's world.
And here's me an' Gabby writing today's blog. I told you... she's watching the computer screen.
Adorable!
