Life goes on

If you could ask my dad, he'd tell you that the Gabby he left here two weeks ago is a very different Gabby from today's Gabby. Struggling to crawl? So two weeks ago. Pulling up to one knee and one foot on the ground, completely filling out 12 month sized clothing, and motoring around to find people who left the room is the hot stuff of the hour. This pink plastic basket is Gabrielle's favorite toy. Perhaps she'll learn to do jumping jacks on it next week.

Earlier this week, Rachel and I took Gabrielle to Greeneville, NC (where Rachel lives most of the time.) We stayed for 2 1/2 days, and it was great to see more of what Rachel's life is like. I wish I'd had the camera to show you her apartment. You wouldn't believe she's a college student. Like I say, some kids save their money for a Spring Break trip, some kids buy a nice couch.

Today's high and low:
Mom and Dad left for Kentucky with the last of their stuff. We said goodbye to the house that I grew up in. Mom will be back in a few days to close on the sale, and she'll stay in town for another month or so. Dad is gone. Very tough day.
Gabrielle said "Mama," and she might have known what she was saying. I don't think so, but today was the first time I've even heard her use the 'm' sound. It won't be long!
