Weekly ritual

So, Josh & Erin Hall stopped by yesterday. YAY! It was quite awesome how much they loved Gabby even though she was screaming most of the time they were here. Well, it wasn't full-blast, but more of the "I'm sleepy" variety.

By now, I'm sure you're wondering, "What is this weekly ritual announced by the title of today's blog?" It's a tv show. Does this make us grown-ups now? Do un-grown-ups ritualistically watch a tv show that only comes on once a week? I don't really care. This show is awesome.

Please don't call our house between 9 and 10 pm on Monday nights. Of course, there are exceptions, but they are too depressing to mention in this light-hearted blog. Every Monday night, Jason and I are watching 24. What is it? An entire season (24 episodes, one hour each) comprises one 24-hour period in the life of CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit - US Government Agency.) Talk about cliffhangers...

Haha. That would have been a good ending to this entry. Tough cookies. You're not done. So, 9-10. If we're not watching with my parents at their house, we're here, or maybe at the Leak's house. Don't ask questions until the commercials... unless you're me. Snacks are preferrable, pillows a must. Gotta have something to hide behind when Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is holding a pen knife to a villain's eye. Commercial break phone calls between the houses of 24 fans typically involve guessing how long it is going to take [hero] Jack Bauer to get to the guy we want him to beat up. If a Carolina basketball game were on at the same time, I'm not sure which one we'd tape and which we'd watch. THAT is how serious I am about this show.

If you are intrigued, you must get caught up on the storyline. Check out www.televisionwithoutpity.com for some too-in-depth descriptions, or call me. Just not between 9 and 10 pm next Monday night.
